Taylor Ullom

Taylor Ullom is a U.S. Air Force veteran, nonprofit leader, and dedicated advocate for veterans and first responders. As the Founder, President, and Executive Director of Hero’s Encore, she brings decades of experience in program development, fundraising, and community engagement, using the power of music to create meaningful impact.

Born into a proud military family, Taylor’s dedication to service was ingrained from an early age. Answering the call to duty, she enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1993 to 2003 in Services and as a Unit Education & Training Manager, where she played a critical role in mission readiness and the professional development of service members. Her exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and commitment to excellence earned her multiple awards for distinguished performance in leadership, training, and operational support.

After leaving the military, Taylor recognized the deep need for transition support, identity renewal, and a sense of belonging for veterans. Armed with a Bachelor of Science in Management of Technology (2000) and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (2014), she combined her strategic leadership with her lifelong passion for music to create pathways for veterans to rediscover purpose, forge new identities, and build a strong support network.
For nearly a decade, Taylor dedicated her career to expanding music-based programs for veterans, leading initiatives that provided education, mentorship, and community engagement. She spearheaded nationwide program expansion, developed cyber instruction initiatives, and cultivated key partnerships, ensuring more veterans had access to music as a tool for healing and growth. Her ability to align mission-driven initiatives with strategic funding opportunities led to tremendous success in fundraising efforts, securing vital resources to expand outreach and impact.

In 2025, Taylor founded Hero’s Encore, recognizing the broader need to support not only veterans but also first responders, who face many of the same challenges in post-service life. Hero’s Encore is dedicated to helping heroes rediscover purpose beyond their service through music, mentorship, and a nationwide network of resources that connects them with career opportunities, mental health support, and peer mentorship programs.
Taylor’s vision is clear: Service doesn’t end when the uniform comes off. Hero’s Encore ensures that every veteran and first responder transitions into a fulfilling, empowered post-service life—one where they continue to be heroes, not just in uniform, but in their families and communities.
