Turning the Page: From Stage 1 to Stage 2

On September 27, 2025, Hero’s Encore reached a defining milestone. Inside the Scott Hall at Omaha Performing Arts, our Heroes stepped into the spotlight for their first live community performance.

They walked onto the stage as peers — and walked off as performers.

This moment marked more than the close of Stage 1 in our 9-month journey. It was proof that courage, music, and community can work in concert to transform lives.

Stage 1: A Collective Achievement

Stage 1 provided each participant with more than a free guitar. They received one-on-one weekly lessons with the guidance of  committed instructors — laying a foundation of skill and confidence. Yet what truly set this stage apart was the collective power of community.

Sponsors didn’t just provide instruments — they placed hope in the hands of Heroes. Families, friends, and neighbors didn’t just fill the seats — they lifted the energy in the room. Together, they demonstrated what it means to set the stage for success.

Our heartfelt thanks goes to Omaha Performing Arts, 50 Mile March, WoodmenLife, Bellevue University, Veterans United, Dietze Music, and every supporter who made this milestone possible.

Stage 2: Finding the Voice Within

Now, we turn to Stage 2: Songwriting. Over the coming months, our Heroes will begin shaping their personal stories into original songs. With the guidance of experienced songwriters, workshops, and peer collaboration, they’ll explore identity, healing, and expression through music.

For many, this will be the first time they’ve put their story into words and melody — a step that takes courage equal to stepping on stage with a guitar.

Looking Ahead: The Gala Graduation

This journey will culminate on February 14, 2026, at our Gala Graduation, where Stage 3 Heroes will perform their original music before the community. It will be a night of transformation, celebration, and proof that post-service identity can be rebuilt with music as the guide.
